“If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.” – Colin Powell Every success is a result of continuous hard work started by little steps. Just like any other institutions, The University of the East in Caloocan celebrated their 71st founding anniversary last September 2017, from September 18th (Monday) until September 22nd (Friday). This is in commemoration when it was founded in 1946 and first opened its doors in Samson Road, Caloocan way back when it was known as UE Tech. The university week is open to all students and their parents, including outsiders who wishes to celebrate with them. University of the East also invited different food and non-food establishments to be their concessionaires in this incredible week of fun and excitement. As most of us know, Ms. Shiara Joy Dizon, Mutya ng Malabon 2017 and Miss Millenial Malabon, is currently studying in this reputable university. She is known as responsible and hardworking student. She is an influential leader, acting as the Central Student Council’s Business Manager. Shiara Dizon is also Benny’s Lounge’s ambassadress, she abetted both the University of the East Caloocan Campus and Benny’s Lounge to have a partnership in which Benny’s Lounge took part of as one of the university’s major sponsor in the university week. Benny’s Lounge participated in the celebration for 3 days, from September 20 to September 22. With much excitement from the restaurant, Benny’s Lounge offered “hole-in-the-wall” grubs for its clients in the university. UE Foundation Day Menu: Buffalo Wings on stick – Php 70.00 Honey Glazed Wings on stick – Php 70.00 Churro Bites – Php 60.00 Cookie Cake – Php 60.00 Mango Panna Cotta – Php 80.00 Students, parents, school employees and even outsiders fell in love with Benny’s Lounge’s products. Students supported the newest addition to the menu – Chef Ryan Reyes’ Cookie Cake. Essentially, a cake sized chocolate chip cookie, chewy edges and a soft center. During the 3-day participation of Benny’s Lounge, we noticed that most people who passed by our booth tend to say “Ay may Benny’s Lounge pala dito! Ayan yung sinasabi ko sayo..” and then followed by a chuckle on their faces. We were all overwhelmed upon hearing and seeing customers who loves the food and services we offered. So as part of giving back, Benny’s Lounge gave 10% off discount vouchers for the customers who bought any food items during the UE Foundation week which can be used when they visit the restaurant in Malabon. The UE Foundation week helped us to start our new venture – providing food and services outside the walls of our restaurant through food fair/food bazaar. It was indeed another modest success for Benny’s Lounge. A real accomplishment unlocked because of two things: We were able to help University of the East through our collaboration as a major sponsor for the event; We were able to share our food experiences with new and old customers inside the campus. It is with honor and pride to be part of Benny’s Lounge, a family full of passionate people. A team who loves what they do, may it be in the back office, inside the kitchen or the front liners. We are sharing a common goal, to provide the commendable quality and high-standardized food items and earnest services to our dear customers. In behalf of Benny’s Lounge team, we would like to thank all who supported and patronized our food booth at the UE Foundation week. This is only the start. Watch out for more new ventures of your favorite family restaurant. See you again!
“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” This short quotation made me feel like a hole has been punched into my chest. I was struck, maybe because this is what I need to hear frequently. As a buoyant lady who tends to meditate in words of wisdom daily, I once glanced into Anthony J. D’Angelo’s words, the ones written above. The composition of his simple words might sound a little bit cliché, for some. But, if you take time to read and reflect on its powerful meaning, you might end up chanting it as your mantra. Most of us, or it’s better to say all of us, yearn to be best on something we want – our passion. However, it always seems impossible that we end up not trying at all. Our fear of not being the best overpowers the fire inside our hearts, which is wrong! We must understand that each successful person started from where we are right now. They took that big leap and made consistent steps and never ceased to learn. Courage and openness to continuously learn are keys to be just like them. Make ways to improve yourself everyday. And if you love something, learn how to do it. What do you love to do? How can you continuously improve yourself? How about learning a skill that is new to you? How do you like to be better at a craft where your family and friends will appreciate you when their tummy get filled with bursting flavors of dishes made none other than you? Benny’s Lounge, in partnership with St. Therese of the Child Jesus Academy are here to help you learn your passion for cooking! We will be offering a monthly culinary demo workshop starting September 2017! For a reasonable price, the workshop rate comes with a set meal and a learning kit. Workshop details will be released this month so stay tuned! For more inquiries, visit us at 721 JP Rizal Ave. Ext. Malabon City. You may also reach us through phone call or SMS at 09055412366. You can be more than who you are today! Always keep growth in mind and never stop believing in yourself and the things that you could do.
“Every man can be called as father, but it takes someone special to be called as dad.” -Wade Boggs He is every son’s first idol and daughter’s first love. He is the other essential persona to complete a family equation. He is the one who, with great strength, carries the family together. He is our superhero – our Dad. Fathers are feared yet being idolized by every child for he shows how to not give up on everything. He always has the solution in everything. Often times, the society sees them as someone who is obliged to work to provide for the family. And that’s it! But no, it is not that simple. This is what really happens underneath that belief: As the father in the family, he is really motivated to work hard to support his family and give his children a brighter future. Most of them tend to work abroad for a higher salary, so that in this way the family can have a comfortable lifestyle. And that great act means, sacrificing his time, safety, health and happiness but for him, it’s perfectly fine because he loves his family so much. We all know to ourselves that we love him as much as he loves us. And to show our appreciation to all the great dads out there, we are celebrating Father’s Day every month of June. Benny’s Lounge would like to greet every dad a Happy Father’s Day! We value families, and that is why we are honoring all the super dads by giving away free Chocolate Coffee Truffles to all fathers who will dine with us this coming June 18. For inquiries and reservations, you can call/sms us at 09055412366. Or you may visit us as 721 JP Rizal Ave. Ext. Malabon City. Once again, Happy Father’s Day!
As a toddler, one of the first few words we say is “Mama”. As a child, the first person we run to when something goes wrong is our Mommy. As adults, we tend to dedicate most of our achievements in life to our Nanay. Mama, Mommy, Nanay or whatever name we call them, one thing is common. She is the woman we first loved and will always love – our Mothers. She is the so-called “Ilaw ng Tahanan” in each families for the reason that your day wouldn’t be complete if you haven’t heard her daily “sermon”. Kidding aside yet, at some point it’s true, right? This Filipino idiom is widely used all over the country because, honestly speaking, it is the best way to describe our mothers. Every mother seems to always find ways to make the life of her family better. She is willing to sacrifice everything. Her love for them serves as the brightest light to guide her loved ones on the right path of life. Everyday of their lives, all they think of is their children. They will do whatever it takes just to make them feel loved and supported. It is not uncommon to think that they are willing to die just for her children to live. This can be best described as True Love. Once a year, every month of May, it is our tradition to honor our mothers. To give back all the love and care they generously give, we celebrate Mother’s Day. It is now our turn to make them feel special this coming May 14. Benny’s Lounge’s team wants to greet every supermoms a Happy Mother’s Day! To honor all mothers on May 14, Benny’s Lounge will be having a special promo for all out loving mothers who will celebrate with us so stay tuned! For more inquiries, visit us at 721 JP Rizal Ave. Ext. Malabon City. You may also reach us through phone call or SMS at 09055412366.

Last 25th of March, Benny’s Lounge hosted the pre-summer party. It was a teaser event in preparation for the upcoming summer night musical festival this May 2017. The tropical vibe is very apparent since it is the pre-summer event theme – event design, buffet set up, and dress code of Benny’s Lounge team. The door opened at around 6 PM where guests lined up at the reception desk to enter the event. Upon entering the event, guests had the chance to choose where they wanted to be seated – al fresco, where the acoustic band was; dining area, where they can have a comfortable restaurant vibe; or function room where the fun never stops! An event is not a party unless there’s food right? No problem! Not only was it deliciously good, but it was also FREE FLOWING! The guests who participated in the pre-summer event experienced the Tropical-vibe set up of the buffet area! Aside from the set up, they fell in love with the Hawaiian-themed food selection that our very own Chef Ryan prepared. The sumptuous food items were prepared by our very own Chef Ryan Reyes. Tahong Half shell with BBQ sauce & Pineapple Salsa – modernized baked Tahong that is sweet, tangy and slightly smoky Pineapple Grilled Chicken – chicken dark meat flavored and grilled with fresh pineapples. Beef Kebab – tender beef cubes skewered with onions and bell pepper. Grilled Shrimp – classic grilled shrimp finished with butter for an added dimension. Belly BBQ Skewers – Pinoy BBQ flavored thinly sliced pork belly. Steamed Fish – fresh and delicious fish steamed with lemon and ginger. Buttered Grilled Corn on the Cob – street style grilled corn perfect with our grilled items. Mashed Potato – fluffy and buttery mashed potato. Coleslaw – shredded cabbage and other vegetables dressed in a creamy and tangy sauce. Fried Calamari – classic breaded squid rings served with our signature sinamak sauce. Not only that, we also introduced our very own Benny Bingsu – or commonly known as “Patbingsu”, a Korean dessert which is made up of shaved ice, creamy milk and fruits. We also served Tropical cocktail drinks and a mini bar with different kinds of cocktails and liquors to choose from. Going back to the event highlight, the Al Fresco crowd enjoyed the acoustic sounds of Beans Mañalac together with Vonne Santos. They performed different music genre plus, their own music composition. While, the party people at the function room had fun with the party DJs – DJ James and DJ Hannah Ichicko. For a very reasonable event rate of PHP 400, everyone enjoyed the BBQ night filled with different kinds of music genre, all you can eat food buffet, Benny’s Tropical Cocktail and cold desserts. From then on, this dish can be seen during birthdays, reunions, and more Filipino events/gatherings. Benny’s Lounge aims to satisfy everyone’s cravings. Therefore, we are giving what you ask for! But to be distinctive from the others, our very own Crispy Pata is Boneless! Yes you read it right! It is 10x better and worth the money! Doused with a familiar sweet and tangy papaya pickle juice, served with a soy-vinegar and citrus-based dipping sauce.” It is truly your kind of holy grail!
